It is now possible to import an existing NBS Create Specification file (.spex) into NBS Chorus.  An import will fail for the following reasons:

ReasonHow to solve
1.The file being imported is a bad file.
  • Check that you can open the file in NBS Create. Files that cannot be opened cannot be imported.
  • Try importing a backup of the file. Before importing check that you can open it in NBS Create.
  • If the file that is failing to import needs to be imported into NBS Chorus please contact the NBS Support Team who may be able to help.
    • You will receive a confirmation email with a report attached when the import fails. Please forward this onto support@theNBS.com with a copy of the file being imported.
2.The file is too big. There is a file size limit of 300MB.
  • If the file you want to import is larger than 300MB please raise a support request for the NBS Support Team who can arrange for this to be imported on your behalf.
3.The file contains clauses that have clause titles and suffixes exceeding 255 characters.
  • If the file you want to import contains clause titles and suffixes that combined exceed 255 characters this will cause the import to fail.
  • At the bottom of the import report, it will say 'NBS Create Title is too long (max. 255)'
  • We recommend reducing the length of long clause titles/ suffixes to be less than or equal to 255 characters in NBS Create then retry the file import.
  • If you no longer have access to NBS Create or are using the read-only version please contact the NBS Support team for help.
4.You are not an administrator on the project.
  • You must be an administrator to add specifications to a project.
5.You lose your internet connection while your file is being uploaded.

Between browsing for the NBS Create specification (.spex) file then clicking save and getting a confirmation message that your specification is being processed, the file is being uploaded into NBS Chorus. The import will fail and you will not get an email notification if you lose your internet connection during upload.

  • Retry uploading when you regain your internet connection.
